Our friendly team is here to welcome you to our Centre. Please call us on 020 8649 9340, call in to see us in Reception at Waddon Station Buildings, or contact us by email via this site, with any queries you may have. We are open from 8 am until 6 pm each day.
The Builder Training Centre opened in 2003 to address the shortage of Construction Courses for those in the building trade and for those trying to get into it, and anyone looking for Practical DIY Courses for beginners. The Centre opened offering Short Intensive Practical Hands-on Courses, then in 2005, expanded the Electrical Centre with the introduction of Electrical Qualifications by becoming an EAL Approved Centre In 2007 we expanded the department again by offering City & Guilds Electrical Qualifications. All our Electrical Courses and Alarm Courses are run from our second centre (a very short walk away) inStafford Road.
We are here to help you learn your chosen skills in a practical hands-on environment. The instructors are qualified, highly experienced tradesmen, who have spent many years working within the industry and teaching the trades locally. So, students that attend can take full advantage of our tips of the trade, personal experience and the advice we are able to offer. As an Approved Centre, we offer a very high standard of teaching, which is reflected throughout the Centre on all our courses, and this is also reflected in our excellent pass rates for our Electrical Qualifications.
All our weekday, weekend and evening classes are restricted in size which means individual attention, enabling you to become competent and to work at your own speed in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Whether you are already in the building trade, wishing to extend your practical knowledge to other areas, a beginner doing your own home repairs and DIY, an employer looking to retain your staff, looking to start a new career or train to become a Domestic Installer or Electrician, you are sure to find a course here to suit you.
All of our courses are suitable for both men and women.
Our students are a combination of private individuals, employees, employers, supervisors, handymen, caretakers, property developers, those attending on resettlement, funded by the MOD, or re-training packages funded by their employers.
Frequently, people who have completed our weekday, weekend or evening Practical Courses and/or Electrical Qualification Courses, recover the entire cost in just one or two jobs! They either save money, by not having to call in a specialist, or earn it by utilising their new skills. Basically, our courses work, and that’s why students keep returning!
