Overview

The Builder Training Centre (The BTC) offers a high quality structured Advanced Inspection & Testing Course. This can be attended over 2 consecutive weekdays

Our instructors are qualified, highly experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Tradespersons, so students can take full advantage of all the tips of the trade, personal experiences and practical advice they offer. This short course is intensive, but no compromise is made on the course content. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable which creates a good learning environment.

This 2 day Advanced Electrical 3 Phase Inspection and Testing Course at The Builder Training Centre is aimed at students who are looking to enhance their existing Inspection and Testing skills to include 3 phase systems.

Previous Inspection and Testing experience is required for this course. This may have been gained by work-related requirements or by attending either the Part P Domestic Installers Qualification Course or the City & Guilds 2392 Initial Inspection and Testing of single phase installations Qualification Course.

This course is ideal for anyone looking to attend the City & Guilds 2391-50, City & Guilds 2391-51, City & Guilds 2391-52 or EAL 2625 Electrical Qualification Course who has limited or no previous 3 phase practical experience.

You will be tasked with undertaking a full inspection and test of a 3 phase installation to include the various tests required on both 3 line and single line circuits. Your tutor will talk you through each step and then you will put the training into practice on pre-configured boards. Once completed, you will learn how to correctly complete all the required certificates and associated documentation for both Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing. You will then be tasked with completing the process with minimal supervision to ensure any gaps identified are discussed and rectified. You will also work on some rigs with pre-installed faults to enable you to enhance your learning should you intend conducting Periodic Inspection and Tests in the future.
