Weekday or Weekend Level 3 Award in the Management Requirements for the Maintenance of Electrical Equipment 2377-32

This qualification has been replaced by the City & Guilds 2377-77 as of 1/3/21

City & Guilds 2377-32 PAT Testing Course at The Builder Training Centre is a new qualification that includes both practical and theory elements.  This course is ideally suited for anyone who needs to demonstrate their knowledge of management requirements for the maintenance of electrical equipment, within a commercial environment, including landlord or local authority rented properties.

It is highly recommended that you attend our 2 day Electrical Foundation Course before attending this 2 day PAT Testing Qualification course if you do not have a basic understanding of the wiring of portable equipment.  For more details of our 2 day Electrical Foundation Course please click here

The Builder Training Centre (The BTC) offers high quality structured In Service Inspection and Testing Courses (more commonly known as PAT Testing Courses). This can be attended as a 2 day weekday course or, for those that have commitments during the week, as one of our very popular weekend training courses. Our instructors are qualified, highly experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Tradespersons, so students can take full advantage of all the tips of the trade, personal experiences and practical advice they offer. This short course is intensive, but no compromise is made on the course content.  The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable which creates a good learning environment.

This City & Guilds 2377-32 electrical course is ideal for people who wish to obtain the relevant qualification to demonstrate their knowledge of management requirements for the maintenance of electrical equipment.  If you are looking to also carry out in-service inspection and testing (PAT Testing) of electrical equipment within a commercial environment, including Landlord rented properties, to ensure all electrical equipment is tested and certified as being safe for continued use, then we would recommend that you would benefit from registering for the 2377-22 as well, however, the option is available to undertake each qualification individually.  If you already work as an Electrician, this qualification will enable you to enhance your current service offering to a much wider audience within the electrical industry.

City & Guilds 2377-32 PAT Testing Course Content:

To gain an understanding of the following:

  • Statutory and non-statutory requirements relevant to the management of electrical equipment maintenance
  • How equipment construction and classification can reduce the risk of electric shock
  • Requirements for the inspection and testing procedures for electrical equipment
  • Audit and documentation procedures for the management and in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment
  • Required training for managers, administrators, inspectors and users of electrical equipment.

Preparation for on-line open book multiple choice exam: 1 hour and 20 minutes (40 questions)

As part of this 2 day course you will gain practical experience of PAT Testing, but there will not be a formal practical assessment, unless you wish to register for the 2377-22 as well.
